"Obsolete Future" out now on all media platforms

SPR (VIMH): Hi guys, congrats on your new single OBSOLETE FUTURE

SPR (VIMH): What is the significance of naming a single after Obsolete Future name?

Halogram: "Obsolete Future" is about the path humanity have chosen: a path that the further we go, the more retrograde we become.

SPR (VIMH): What do the lyrics talk about? Which are your major lyrics’ influences?

Halogram: Well as we are an instrumental band, we don’t write any lyrics but we based our writing in a specific theme. We like to write our songs based on our thoughts about current problems in society: injustice, historical events…

SPR (VIMH): Which are those elements that separate your new single from your previous singles?

Halogram: We like to try new styles in each single. This time we have merged different styles from funky rhythms, going through some electronic sounds to very extreme metal riffs

SPR (VIMH): What are your expectations from the new single?

Halogram: We are not expecting anything different from our previous releases. We hope if our current listeners like it to get it shared as much as possible and hopefully the Spotify algorithm would help us out to reach more potential listeners and slowly grow up our fanbase.

SPR (VIMH): How did the cooperation with Impact Studios occur? How’s working with the producer Buster Odeholm and how much has he helped you on the whole?

Halogram: We have contacted Impact Studios directly. They are an incredible team and worked with Buster Odeholm, the mixer engineer did an amazing work with the mix and the master and we would like to thanks him for being so patient with all our request.

SPR (VIMH): How’s the fans’ reactions been to the new songs on your live shows so far?

Halogram: With Halogram we have not gigging plans at the moment but when that opportunity arises: our new single Obsolete Future will be one of the best songs that people will enjoy as so far this new single was the one with the best feedback from our fans.

SPR (VIMH): Do you prefer to be on the road or on the studio writing and recording?

Halogram: I like both sides as you get different feelings from each. I really enjoy the writing and the studio recording specially the feeling when we finalize a song. I do live shows with other bands and the adrenaline that you get on stage is the most gratifying sensation ever!

SPR (VIMH): How did you come up with the name HALOGRAM initially?

Halogram: We came out with different options, two of them were HALO and HOLOGRAM, as they were already taken, we decided to mix them out and we liked the sound of it.

SPR (VIMH): How would you describe your music style to someone that hasn’t heard of you before?

Halogram: Our style is Instrumental Progressive Metal/Djent. It is a mixture of several styles, the result of our musical influences from classic bands from the 70’s to the 00’s, which is summarized in catchy melodies with a heavy background.

SPR (VIMH): Which do you consider to be the best male & female vocalist in metal history?

Halogram: The masters Bruce Dickinson and Otep Shamaya.

SPR (VIMH): Which is the record you wish you had written and why?

Halogram: I’m between 2 albums: Metallica’s Black Album and Dream Theater’s “Scenes from A Memory”. Both albums are masterpieces, and they really influenced me during my music career.

SPR (VIMH): Were you obliged to give just one album to extraterrestrials that would represent the whole human music, which album would it be and from which band/artist?

Halogram: Any album from The Beatles.

SPR (VIMH): If you had the chance to travel in time… where would you choose to go? To the past or the future and why?

Halogram: I would choose to go to the past, mainly because it was a completely different way of living, the way to make music, the fans, it seems much cooler and prettier than the actual times. Also, would be interesting go to the future to check how the music would evolve.
