Interview with Freedivers

ROGUE PR (VIMH): Hi guys, congrats on your new album "Upside Down" Freedivers: Thanks!!

ROGUE PR (VIMH): What is the significance of naming an album Upside Down ? Freedivers: Well, it refers to how things are in the world today. both because of the situation of the pandemic, and because of global warming in addition to many other things

ROGUE PR (VIMH): What do the lyrics talk about? Which are your major lyrics’ influences? Freedivers: In the lyrics we try to capture the energy of the environment, the constant anguish over the situation in which we live. We tell personal stories, with which we believe anyone can relate to.

ROGUE PR (VIMH):Which are those elements that separate your new album from your previous albums? Freedivers: Well, "Upside Down" is our first album. there is no other previous work. We are a very new project, we started in Nov 2019.

ROGUE PR (VIMH): How would you characterize “Upside Down” and what are your expectations from the new album? Freedivers: "Upside Down" is our first album, and we consider it an experiment album. but it is also an album that functions as a statement of the band's intentions. We hope it is well received by our audience, and connect with it, for us it is the most important thing

ROGUE PR (VIMH): How did the cooperation with Casa far Records occur? How’s working with James White and how much he helped you on the whole?

Freedivers: Well, Casa Far is our own record label, so it's been like recording with the family. James White has been in charge of the production and has been the fundamental piece in the sound of the album.

ROGUE PR (VIMH): How’s the fans’ reactions been to the new songs on your live shows so far?

Freedivers: Unfortunately, due to the current situation we have not been able to do live performances. We hope the situation gets better and we can do a tour. We are optimistic.

ROGUE PR (VIMH):Do you prefer to be on the road or on the studio writing and recording?

Freedivers: I personally prefer studio work, but my bandmates prefer the road.

ROGUE PR (VIMH):How did you come up with the name Freedivers initially?

Freedivers: The name came from the link with the underwater world and the practice of free diving of one of us, we found that it is something fascinating and has something romantic to dive into another world with just a breath.

ROGUE PR (VIMH): How would you describe your music style to someone that hasn’t heard of you before?

Freedivers: We don't like labels, but our music style could be indie / rock / pop with a touch of grunge. As a band we are influenced by the Seattle sound of the 90s from bands like Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Stone Temple Pilots and others.

ROGUE PR (VIMH): Which do you consider to be the best male & female vocalist in metal history?

Freedivers: I think it is something of personal appreciation because there is no scientific way to measure it, so I prefer not to answer

ROGUE PR (VIMH): Which is the record you wish you had written and why?

Freedivers: Personally, Never mind, because I think it marked a milestone in the history of music.

ROGUE PR (VIMH): Were you obliged to give just one album to extraterrestrials that would represent the whole human music, which album would it be and from which band/artist?

Freedivers: The White Album , The Beatles.

ROGUE PR (VIMH): If you had the chance to travel in time… where would you choose to go? To the past or the future and why?

Freedivers: I think I would go to the past, I could be and participate in events where I would have liked to be. The future is unpredictable, and they also say that Any time past, it was better
