Band Name and Members:
GODZ
Members: Hades: Lead Guitar/Backup Vocals (God of the Underworld, Ruler of the Dead) Kronos: Vocals (God of Time, Leader of all Titans) Ares: Drums (God of War & Raw Violence) Dionysus: Lead Guitar/Backup Vocals (God of Madness, Ecstasy, & Wine) What's up and coming for GODZ: We are currently finalizing pre-production & mapping out which songs will make it to the album! We will be finishing our Debut Album *CULTUM* in late December-early January. We will be going to Digital, Terrestrial & Satellite Radio in December, pushing our New Single *Cure the Curse* featuring Craig Mabbitt of Escape the Fate. (He did guest vocals & a music video with us.) What can we expect from the new music coming and when is the upcoming release date? We have taken a year's time writing & recording endless amounts of material. We really took our time to develop a signature sound; both in song writing & in tonality. We have quite an eclectic roster of songs in our arsenal now. While eclectic, they are still very cohesive in that each song has its own heavy & calm moments. We achieved this balance by using crushing, down-tuned, riffy Guitars, over the top Drumming & double Bass, tons of Synth tones, & a blend of Epic singing with Huge multi-layer Harmonies, & Screaming! To generalize, our sound has overtones of the combination of bands such as: *Korn, Bring Me The Horizon, NIN, Depeche Mode & Asking Alexandria; just to name a few off the top of my head. We can promise that this world has never heard, nor experienced, anything quite like this before. Our Tentative Release Date is Spring-Early Summer 2019! We will have Several Radio Releases & Music Videos leading up to the Release! Any live performances coming up? We are Steadfast in focusing on Finishing the Album & 5 Music Videos currently. With that being said, we are always multi-tasking & constantly making moves in every aspect of the Music Business. This includes building a Solid Team, Core Fan Base, Great Merch & Theatrical Live Performances. We are Submitting for Festivals & looking at Tour packages for 2019 with our Agent at Artery Global. Who are you inspired by? GODZ takes inspiration from several human Musicians, Artists, Film Makers & Poets! This question was partially answered in the above mentioned Acts that we believe our sound is a mix of. We do believe you must always pay homage to the ground breaking acts that defined the genres like: Black Sabbath, Metallica, Led Zeppelin...along with acts like NIN, Marilyn Manson, & Rob Zombie that defined the elements we use in Synths/Keyboard & Theatrical Stage Shows! Please explain your creative process? Typically I, Hades, start by writing songs in Pro Tools. I often like to challenge myself by writing full songs only using synth drums, pianos, synth melodies, & bass lines instead of starting with guitar. I believe this process forces you to make the best melody choices & beats without the confines of guitar! Most guitarists & musicians, in general, tend to have "go to" melodies & riffs based around power chords & scales that are embedded into their playing! Taking your main instrument away allows new ideas to form. After the songs are recorded, we typically have our drummer, Ares, re-write the drums. After that process, we then have the lyrics & vocals come into play, as they often end up reshaping the songs. So more often than not, we will remix a song...adding & subtracting parts 4 or 5 times before it's stamped as finished! Is there a hidden meaning in any of your music? As we are each possessed by Ancient Gods of Olympus, we use a lot of Latin (Language of the time of our initial Worship on Earth) in our Song Names & Lyrics! We like to mention Ancient times & struggles along with Current references in lyrics, as the duality is in these have not changed much at all throughout the ages! Do you collaborate with others? What is that process? Yes, we most certainly do! For instance: We collaborated with Producer/Musician Logan Mader (ex Machine Head, Soulfly) on one of the songs. Matt Snell (ex Five Finger Death Punch) played Bass on this Entire record. We also have a guest Vocal spot by Craig Mabbitt (Escape The Fate.) We might have 1 more vocal guest spot before we finish the record; only Time will Tell! With current technology, writing & collaborating with other musicians across the world has become so easy with all the different recording DAWS. Any Closing Comments?
