We haven’t been to Stormy’s in a few, (F()ckin’ Pandemic and all), but it was great to see old faces once again. The guys at Breezy Point always pull off some cool lighting. Let’s talk about the night, shall we?
Above Snakes opened up the night. We met these crazy mofo’s from Boston at the same venue a few years ago on their first leg with Ashes to New, and due to unforeseen circumstances, couldn't chat with them at that moment. But this time around we had a quick moment to shoot the sh!t with Johnny and Dax. Keep your ears open soon for that chat.
They open the doors with their new single, “ Nothing to Lose”. All I have to say is… For Hell’s sake.. Let’s punch a hole in the wall to start it all!!!! And the train doesn’t stop rolling.
It was great to see them again, and so much more is coming soon!!!
Second up was Moon Fever. And once again, this band evolved. But in a few more ways. We saw these guys at the same venue, but with a few different members at the time. The new lineup is fresh and did a great job bringing the crowd in.
I have a personal connection with the next two bands. I really catch the music and lyrics hitting close to home with Otherwise and Adelitas Way. Let’s start with Otherwise.
The shows we were supposed to see this tour was at the Apollo, in Belvidere Illinois, but, due to a catastrophic roof collapse, wasn’t possible. Our hearts and prayers to all affected at the venue.
Adrian and Ryan always brought it every time I saw them, no matter the venue. And this wasn’t any different. I can’t find a favorite song on the setlist. Soldiers is close to us personally, but, everything they do on stage was a banger!!!
And God damn… Here's Adelitas Way!!! Opening with Bad reputation made the crowd a buzz with energy. They played with all the intensity and fire that you would expect. Even when there was a moment where there was a tech difficulty; nonetheless, their set was incredible! And it was great to hear some new stuff!
