Everclear Show Review at Petunia Festival, Dixon, IL - July 3rd, 2023

If you grew up in the 90's or early 2000's, or are into alternative rock in even the slightest, you have heard or heard of,'Everclear'. With songs like 'Father of Mine', 'Everything to Everyone', 'AM Radio' and 'So Much for the Afterglow' they were very difficult to escape from.

This year is celebrating 30 years of their debut album 'World of Noise', its pretty wild to think that they have been going that long and cranking out tunes. When they take the stage, it's pretty evident that they love being up there. Art Alexakis has come forth with health issues in the recent past, but his passion and love for plyaing rock 'n roll music is very clear. When he's out there with the rest of the band, he's still, mostly, moving like he's still in his 20's.

Lots of crowd engagement and interaction, I'm not even sure how much Art had to actually sing, the packed crowd was doing a lot of the heavy lifting. I can only imagine what it's like for performers to have a crowd of fans singing your lyrics back to you every night.

It's pretty awesome seeing bands like 'Everclear' at a small town festival like Petunia Fest in Dixon, IL. If you can, try to catch Everclear at a show soon. It's a great show, and fun times. As you get whisked away back to the seemingly simpler times of the 90's and enjoy the tunes that you used to sing when they came on radio. Acts like 'Everclear' are becoming few and far between, make sure you go out and show them your love and support while you still can.
