ROGUEPR (VIMH): Hi guys, congrats on your new album “Path Of A Shadow”. What is the significance of naming an album after Path Of A Shadow?

Pressure: The whole album is a story about a person and different episodes happening in that person’s life. No matter what happens in the story there is one thing that’s always around, your shadow.

ROGUEPR (VIMH): What do the lyrics talk about? Which are your major lyrics’ influences?

Pressure: The lyrics are about different kind of Pressures everyday people are exposed to, from society, people around them. Good and/or bad. Our influences are own experienced things or experienced by people really close to us. We always write our lyrics open to interpret for the listener.

ROGUEPR (VIMH): Which are those elements that separate your new album from your previous albums?

Pressure: This is our first album, so EVERYTHING.

ROGUEPR (VIMH): How would you characterize “Path Of A Shadow” and what are your expectations from the new album?

Pressure: We hope that more people will get to know us, they can find something in our songs that speaks to them. And they can recognize them self our people around them. That the lyrics make them think, and starts discussions, they probably wouldn’t have if they hadn’t heard the songs.

ROGUEPR (VIMH): How’s the fans’ reactions been to the new songs on your live shows so far?

Pressure: Really good, they like the sound and the lyrics but they have a hard time to put us into a genre. That’s not strange because we write and play our own genre “Story Metal”

ROGUEPR (VIMH): Do you prefer to be on the road or on the studio writing and recording?

Pressure: I am really surprised how much I loved writing and recording, but since we haven’t been able be on the road because of Corona I really want to get out there and play and meet the fans.

ROGUEPR (VIMH): How did you come up with the name Path Of A Shadow initially?

Pressure: That was actually our PR consultant Sam (SamBone PR). We had a few names that we thought where the right one and we had already decided for one of those names, but when she told us her idea, we thought is summed up the album in a really good way.

ROGUEPR (VIMH): How would you describe your music style to someone that hasn’t heard of you before?

Pressure: We play “Story Metal” we use Metal Rock to help us express the feelings in our lyrics. Our sound, it’s a mix, if you take the Vocals from Rammstein or Volbeat, and the backing vocals from Queen or Aerosmtih mix it with the guitars of Bon Jovi, Guns ´n Roses and Motley Crue and add the drums of DIO or Whitesnake and the lyrics of Skid Row or Bob Dylan and add the bass of Metallica or Korn, and finally add a little bit folk music into that mix

ROGUEPR (VIMH): Which do you consider to be the best male & female vocalist in metal history?

Pressure: That’s really tough to answer, there is so many great voices out there and they all fit with their bands and songs. So, its like comparing apples and oranges, everything is right in their place! Haha I really can’t choose!

ROGUEPR (VIMH): Which is the record you wish you had written and why?

Pressure: I would love to have written the Carolus Rex album by Sabaton. A supreme album both in context music-wise and performance. It has everything that I want and love about storytelling music!

ROGUEPR (VIMH): Were you obliged to give just one album to extra-terrestrials that would represent the whole human music, which album would it be and from which band/artist?

Pressure: Ah, that would be Big Ones by Aerosmith! It has a lot to offer and shows much emotions and things that are really representing the human race!

ROGUEPR (VIMH): If you had the chance to travel in time… where would you choose to go? To the past or the future and why?

Pressure: I would go to the future, probably to the year 5000. Why? I am really curious and even though we don’t know exactly what happened in the past we have some idea of it. There are of cause times and events in the past that I really would like to experience. But even though I would probably hate it in year 5000, my curiosity takes over…

Pressure is a melodic rock band hailing from Stockholm, Sweden. With songwriter and lead guitarist Simon “Siirpo” Forsell at the helm, vocalist Olof Jönsson and guitarist Emil Salling lead everyday people around the world to overcome and embrace the pressures felt from everyday existence. Their lyrics famously show that there are two sides to every story - the good and the bad. Every song has a double meaning. Pressure wants their music to be used as tools to handle the different kind of pressures that surrounds us.

The lead singer Olof puts his soul into each and every word he performs, and he is backed up by the guitars intriguing melodies and rhythmical sound.

The band began their journey together in 2018, and since then they have worked around the clock to build their unique sound and powerful songs. Pressure is always putting up a great show for you and their aim is to make memories and epic musical moments together with their fans.

A quote that can summarize their lyrics is: “How can you tell a story about life if you haven’t dared to live life to its fullest and take chances so you can say you have been there and done that!”. Pressure is all about every story, every moment, every Pressure!

In 2020, the band has been releasing their first Swedish singles and are translating their songs to English and German, gearing up for their upcoming album and getting ready for world domination.
