Review: 8Snake – Eight

8snake – Eight Forming in the UK in 2011 as the Francesco Forte Band. 8Snake has released several albums since. Eight” originally came out in 2018, but has recently been re-released by the band on their Youtube channel. 8Snake is definitely heavily influenced by the progressive genre as a whole. While listening you definitely get a heavy Tool influence, along with elements from several progressive rock bands from throughout history including Pink Floyd, and The Doors. The album sounds great, and there is no shortage of length in their songs. The shortest song on the album is “Necropilis Eye”, which comes in at 5:12. The longest song, “Never Ending”, clocks in at nearly ten and a half minutes. If you enjoy long play albums, that sort lend themselves towards that feeling of just jamming along, this is the one for you. The vocals that are provided by Francesco are fantastic, and sometimes soar into the high falsetto range, I would compare them to King Diamond's in some areas on the album, because of the range that they reach. 8Snake has played at Red Roar Festival, and the Renaissance Alternative Music Festival. With the release of their next album they have plans of touring the UK and Europe. Definitely give these guys a listen if you are into the progressive genres of rock and metal. With the heavy influences from bands like Tool, NIN, Pink Floyd, etc, it will be an enjoyable listen if you love those bands. Stay Furious Bill “Furious” Groen
